I just heard my neighbors yelling across the street. "ROLL TIDE!" "WAR EAGLE!" "ROLL TIDE!"

It's...that day. It's Iron Bowl Day. Alabama vs. Auburn.

And I'm going to work.

...We ain't gonna do SHIT for business today. And everyone we will see will be either drunk or in the middle of a football-induced pyschotic episode.

football always induces more crazy than any other sport, unless you're outside the US; then it's probably soccer, which is their football. it must just go with the name football

I'm honestly worried somebody might get shot this year. We had a guy try to poison the Tooner's (the famous trees outside Auburn that get PT'd every time their team wins. It is a charming tradition no matter how you feel about football. This fucker tried to kill the trees.)

I've never seen the rivarly this bad. Many people are still showing sportsmanship, but there's more crazy than there used to be.

I know logically the chance of someone getting shot is minimal. But holy fuck, it scares me anyway.

but you're not wrong to worry. there are two high schools in town. every year they promote the crosstown rivalry games. but then it started escalating. a few years ago people were fighting with chains and tire irons. and this is in a not so big town. of course those of us who went to private school could stand and shake our heads in dismay and feel superior. i hated not going to public school

It's not Iron Bowl Day - it's UA vs. LSU day! The Iron Bowl stuff is just getting warmed up.
