[Error: unknown template qotd]I have a handful of live shows that were actual transcendal experiences. The Jane's Addiction show of 1990 where I couldn't feel my feet touch the floor, where all the energy seemed to be pushing my conciousness to the top of my body.
The Iggy Pop show in '98. Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls. The Demolition Doll Rods. My Chemical Romance when they pull all their shit together and unload it at once.
I don't know why some shows are spiritual experiences and others just shows, or worse, bad. It's not always the band, the audience has to be ready too. I saw the Strokes give a good show, and the audience loved them. They got better as the night went on as the audience kept begging for more. I realized that the local uni had just let out, and we were seeing college kids in a great mood. The band has to be on point, but so does the audience. And then, you've really got something.
