Oh my God. Thank you. This was completely unexpected. I'd like to thank the Academy, our wonderful director Todd Hayes, my agent Marion, our producers, my family back home in Alabama, and...just everyone who worked on and believed in our little movie.
And I'd like to thank the audience for accepting our movie the way they did. Thank you for seeing the beauty and love in our story, and together I hope we all work towards a better, more just world.

(I love the Oscars. This is me winning Best Screenplay for a Todd Haynes directed movie about gay teens in the 70's.)
