Writer's Block: Most inspiring teacher

I've had teachers who taught me to make a perfect red velvet cake, and some who praised my intellect and creativity when I wasn't even in their class. I had a teacher shame me for sending a note threatening suicide, saying her daughter had it a lot worse. I had a teacher who let me lobby hard for my drama group to do a existenalist play that had no chance in hell of being performed in my conservative Alabama school. I had one who made us read the Great Gatsby and who took me to the guidence counselor when I left depressing, suicidal lyrics on her desk.
But in terms of the most consistant positive influence, it was an outside of school authority figure, Senesi Al. You never forget your first karate instructor.
