For political suicide, it's tied between Hillary Clinton saying she was staying in the race because "Anything could happen, Robert Kennedy was shot", and Sarah Palin not knowing what the Bush Doctrine was.

You know, reality tv gives me so many pitiful idiots damn near killing themselves with catapults and whatnot, that I just have to point to Tru TV and say "pick one."

Well, Margaret Cho went on late night tv and said she kind of wanted to have sex with Sarah Palin. So I think it was a pretty popular idea.

Though Sarah Palin was a freakshow to me from the start, you're right on the money with that godawful line from Hillary. That's really when I started being unimpressed with her campaign, though I was undecided before that. But definitely, both of those moments are pretty much on equal footing.
