Oh yeah, I'm in love with Kendrick's "Not Like Us". Wow.

So I've stayed away from here longer than I meant to. My depression was getting rough. Things have happened, not all of them good. I'm having sleep problems. But it's not as bad as it could be.

Evan just told me today that he's got training for a week, out of town. Not only did he forget to tell me, he forgot to get a hotel. I ask you. Oh well, not like it's Miami.

I need to get my car seen to, again. That's tomorrow. I'm going to rent a car. Here's hoping they have a sedan. I'm actually really annoyed that those are no longer much of a thing far as US autos are concerned. They're even retiring the Chevy Malibu.

Good news, I've seen my sister a few times. She just called me out of the blue one day to drive to her place (hour and a half away) and have lunch at her house. So I did. Then we went to a record store. I bought four of them.

I'm still writing fanfic, nothing stops that, even when my moods or pain is bad. So that's all right.

comments

Sorry. It's been kind of busy over here. I dropped my car off at the shop, but haven't gotten a rental yet. We might have trouble with that, since there's a big cold front coming in. It will still not be as bad as other parts of the country, but I'm worried the power might go out.

comments

I love it when I write something somewhat difficult/unhappy. Because basically all you can do is sit tight and wait for that story's people to show up. Well, been a few days, and I think the whump fans smelled the blood in the water. I'm very happy about this.

Bug has injured her leg. She's very athletic and she's about six years old now, so she tore some ligaments in her back leg. We're trying to keep her as still as possible, but it's not eacy.

I've been having back pain, so that's no fun.

And now it's two am. Ah well.
So Susan had her cancer surgery, and she didn't get a room. They kept her for observation on a gurney and then sent her home after 24 hours. When she got home (50 miles away from the 1st hospital), she had a seizure, and had to go to her local hospital to get treated. Now she's back home again.

Ain't no beds.
Got my pain block today, finally. They're backed up at the surgery clinic-I heard a nurse say that they were scheduled for 61 blocks today.

They had me get on my stomach, and I hate to admit it, but it hurt a lot and I screamed. Embarrassing. This was a full room too (see 61 blocks). But then they put me under, I woke up, I got snacks, and now I'm home. Evan got me a torta from the local Mexican place.

It will take a few days to a week to see if it takes, so wish me luck.

comments

I'm going to my sister's for Thanksgiving this year. She's hosting me, Evan, mom, and her husbands family.

Hoo boy.

I don't mind Michael's sisters and their families, but his parents? They give white trash a bad name. They're awful-dishonest, sleazy, racist, selfish, you name it. How do I know this? Because Michael tells us. He knows his family is shit. This is why I give Michael a pass on a lot of things-it could be so much worse.

However, I just have to eat my food and not engage the crazy. Hope I can do it.

Had a weird interaction with a technician sent to inspect our heating and cooling until. For one thing, he kept getting inside, the last guy didn't do that at all. Then he kept asking me questions-was I married, ect. I finally told him he was getting too personal. Then he left, only to come back and asked if he'd left his keys! I told him I didn't see them, and didn't open the door. I'm so glad to have dogs.

I need to call and complain on him. I didn't do so great last month-might be that surgery thing. I was about 7,000 words short. So I got a collection of quote h/c prompts that a friend gave me, and started to try to make it up before today.

I came really close, with over 5,000 words written in three days. Now I have a one-shot and a story in my small-town verse. I'm still at it. She also has a UTI, which probably weakened her and that could be why she fell. I know she'd been really tired, I should've guessed she might have some sort of infection. She just called to tell me. Yesterday, someone waited for her to leave the house and then they towed it. So that's not a spur of the moment crime, they had to drag it out of there.

Not only that, but she told me the truck was full of about $5000 worth of craft supplies.
Tuesday I went in for another mammogram, since my right boob has very dense breast tissue and they could not get a reading. this lead to a two-hour visit which ended with an ultrasound. Everything's okay, but they want to put me through this a few times, since it's so hard to read and will make home self-checks hard.

After that, I went to my favorite combo Asian grocery and restaurant. After a nice dinner, I went to the grocery part and took a look at the seafood. This place has live eels, live turtles, ect. But I was offended aand grossed out by two not-live, gutted sharks. They were about a foot or so, and gray with white underneath. Not sure what type, but I wasn't happy. I love sharks. I was thinking "For SHAME", but what can you do? I just wound up buying my barley tea and moving on.

Today and yesterday, I've been going to the Dollar Trees around town to get t-shirts. I've been going to NOW meetings, and we're doing the Clothesline Project, a protest/art installation about sexual assault. I was put in charge of buying the shirts and clothespins. And let me tell you, the Eastlake Dollar Tree is God's Own Dollar Store-I will be back.

comments
